06/08/1857:
The Zuid Afrikaan, of 11th June, gives the following details of a storm of 7th June [...] Between twelve and one o'clock the schooner ISABELLA [its anchor cable] parted, and was beached at the Imhoff. Shortly afterward's the schooner GITANA also parted, and was put ashore near the ISABELLA. [...] The GITANA and ISABELLA are bilged.
(Morning Chronicle )
The report does not say the GITANA was a total loss as it does some other victims of the storm but with no more Lloyd's references after this date that might be assumed.
Note: Cost at construction, £1,305 (Builder's list in the Lloyd's Library of the Aberdeen Maritime Museum)
