A telegram from Deal, dated 24th, states that the barque MARITZBURG, for Natal, arrived and anchored in the Downs. The master reports that the pilot, John Daff, fell overboard on Thursday night when off the Princess Light and was drowned

MARITZBURG. - Hamburg, July 28, 10 24 a.m. - Norwegian barque MARITZBURG and British steamer have been in collision. Both vessel's have put in badly damaged. Pilot on board MARITZBURG dead.
