GAVA was a steam fishing vessel built for New Docks Steam Trawling Co. (Fleetwood) by A. Hall & Co. GAVA was fitted with electric lights, a luxury in those days. In 1939 the ship is listed under new owners as Clifton Steam Trawlers, Fleetwood until 1949, when it became under owners Stroud Steam Fishing Co. Ltd. (Aberdeen).
Note: Triple expansion engines with 13", 22" and 36" cylinders, 27" stroke. Boiler 13'6" diameter, 10'6" length, 180 lb. pressure (Builder's List in the Lloyd's Library of the Aberdeen Maritime Museum)
