On Wednesday a fine coppered barque, the HERALD, of 307 tons per register, built by Mr Adamson; and next day the brig, CITY OF ABERDEEN, of 260 tons register, built by Mr Duthie, were launched here, and made excellent launches. They are both considered superior and complete vessels, and their symetry improved by ornament, attracted particular attention as they glided majestically into the water - the band of Militia on

17/07/1826: Sailed from Aberdeen for Savannah.
06/07/1827:
Fraud in cotton - Captain Goldie of barque HERALD, arrived at Savanna [Georgia] from Aberdeen, has in charge several bales cotton fradulantly packed, which were shipped at Savannah. Two of the bags had about 30 pounds of seed each in the centre which, with the cotton round it, was well saturated with water. A quantity of small stones were also found in other bags.

Dundee, Nov 13 - Accounts reached Dundee yesterday of the loss of the barque HERALD, of Aberdeen, Capt Clarke, bound to this port from St. Petersburgh, with a valuable cargo of flax, tallow & c. She was driven on the rocks at Oland on the 23rd Oct and is water-logged. The crew and part of the cargo saved. - Dundee Courier.
