15/08/1950: Launched as ANDVARI. Named by Mrs Gerdar Johnannesson.
02/03/1951: Handed over.

Built as ANDVARI but named as ULAFUR JOHANNESSON on Hall Russell ship plans. ANDVARI means breeze in Icelandic.
