About MeA circular badge with saltire cross in blue and white. The outer edge of the badge is a Geneva Cross with the inscription "REGISTERED GENERAL NURSE SCOTLAND" around the edge. The reverse is engraved with the nurse's name and the maker's mark.

This badge would have been issued to qualified and registered general nurses. The Nurses Registration Act of 1919 introduced the state registration of nurses. The Register had five parts for different types of nurse: general (women only), male nurses, children's nursing, fever nursing, mental nursing and mental deficiency nursing. The General Nursing Council for Scotland held the register for Scottish nurses which included the provision of a uniform or badge for registered nurses.
