About MeBlack and white photograph of 3 men in a granite working shed.

In an enclosed shed, 3 men are working at separate machine set against the walls with a large clear space in the centre. The floor is unpaved and the shed is made from wooden planks.

The machines are all lathes with drive belts going up into the roof space. On the left a large cylinder or rolls is suspended over a large tray containing a liquid (possibly a granite column being polished?). At the back are two small turning lathes with small ornamental columns or pilasters. The machine on the right is mostly obscured.

In the background, on the back wall of the shed is a large circular wheel, suggestive of motion, purpose unknown.
