About MeEarly 19th century stole of fine white muslin with hand embroidered carnation style flowers and buds interspersed with feathery leaves; worked in stem stitch and satin stitch with the scalloped edge in buttonhole stitch. The darker flower heads are created by an appliqued layer subsequently stitched with fine lines to resemble a flower calix.
