About MeThe portrait of Professor Kemp was painted in Aberdeen in 2006 as one of 24 works of the "Energy: North Sea Portraits" exhibition, a collaborative partnership between the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums. Alex Kemp is Schlumberger Professor of Petroleum Economics at the University of Aberdeen and is the pre-eminent authority on the UK's offshore oil industry. He was commissioned by the Prime Minister to write the Official History of North Sea Oil and Gas and this two volume set is due to be published in 2011.
