About MePolished walking stick or staff formed from a length of twisted wood that tapers from 4cm to 2.5cm diameter. The following has been handwritten in ink at the thick (handle) end:

"Cast in the Amatola Mts. S. Africa / by a Caffir named [Nampocki?] & / Brought to England by H.[?].B. / Augt. 1877 / Nampocki was with Dr. / Livingstone, the / great Explorer."

If this object was at one time owned by Williams, it is likely to have been because of its purported connection to Livingstone.
