About MeCard designed by Ian Hamilton Finlay and issued by the Committee of Public Safety, Little Sparta. It features the text "1980" and "1930"; the latter is printed upside down beneath the former, below which is a quote that reads "Racism of the anti-racists, terrorism of the anti-terrorists: the 1980's are the 1930's stood on their head." The card is probably related to the accusions in the 1980s that Ian Hamilton Finlay was a Nazi and anti-Semite.

This work is part of an archive that belonged to Joyce Laing, OBE. The artist, Ian Hamilton Finlay, was a personal friend and sent her an example of each new poem print and multiple as it was made.
