About MeJames sketched in watercolour the many sights that they visited, whilst Marguerite took numerous photographs of the same subjects. This routine, of James sketching and Marguerite taking photographs, was to become a common one for them.

McBey first saw Egypt as an official war artist during World War I, but he returned several times afterwards during visits to the Middle East and North Africa.
