About MeAlexander Murdoch was born in Glenbuchat in 1815. He began his career as a luthier at Castleton, Bridge of Buchat in 1852. Twelve years later he moved to Aberdeen, and set up business at Aberdeen Market in 1864 although later moved to a workshop in Minister Lane, which ran between Kidd Lane to Skene Street. He died in 1891.
