About MeA leather bound prayer book with gilt corner protectors and clasp.The first page carries an inscription in the Queen’s handwriting : To John Brown Esq from his faithful friend. Osbourne Feb:10. 1878.
A second inscription on the other side of the page tells us that the book was given after John Brown’s death to his brother Hugh. The Queen describes John Brown as her "dear & much lamented friend".
