About MeThis Chinese fan is a typical example of those that were manufactured in large quantities for export during the Victorian era.

This fan has 16 gold coloured metal sticks. The front and back sticks have engraved patterns of figures, pavilions and gardens. The middle sticks are decorated with filigree and enameled flowers in blue and green.

The painted paper mount depicts a Chinese court scene and the faces of the figures are painted on tiny pieces of ivory glued on to the paper.
