About MeBlack and white photograph of the sawing shed with two pendulum frame saws and three young men or "saw boys".

The photograph is taken looking into the shed along the length of the saws with the pulley and belt visible in the back right. Each saw has a piece of granite in place supported on blocks with a drip tray extending out to the front into a bucket. The saw on the right has wooden planks angled either side of the blade to guide in the abrasive solution.

A saw boy stands within each frame, whose job would be to feed abrasive solution into the cut. A third boy stands on the extreme right. All are wearing trousers, shirts and caps; the boy on the left wears a jacket and the other two waistcoats.
