About MeMajel Davidson was born in Aberdeen in 1885 and educated at Aberdeen High School and Gray's School of Art, where she specialised in painting and pottery, completing her studies about 1907. In 1908-9 she studied painting in the studios of Guerin in Paris and her work is influenced by the Scottish Colourists. She established Gushetneuk Pottery (c. 1927 to 1935) near her family home in Cults, producing practical tableware and more decorative ceramics with art deco designs. She died at Powis near Stirling in 1969.
