About MeThe model of the Cutty Sark ship (5) was made by Hercules Linton’s company Scott & Linton in 1869, the year he gained the contract to design and build the tea-clipper. The Cutty Sark was one of the last and fastest tea clippers to be built on the Clyde, but unfortunately Scott & Linton experienced financial difficulties during the construction and ultimalely Hercules was made bankrupt. The ship was launched on 22 November 1869, and went on to travel the globe, breaking several world records for speed.
