About MeOne of a group of photographs taken for inclusion in the book Oil Rush published in 1975. The images are a snapshot of the activity and its impact upon Aberdeen and the wider area.

This image has a view of the Kishorn Fabrication Yard in Wester Ross during construction of the 600,000 ton Ninian Central Platform. The work has just commenced. This was the first project for the yard which transformed a remote and sparsley populated are with the influx of 3,000 workers from all over Britain and beyond.
The yard closed in 1987, although in 2019 it was again in operation on a much smaller scale to cater for servicing rigs.
