About MeInk sketch on a scrap piece of headed paper from the Palace Hotel, Piccadilly Circus, London depicting an elderly gentleman wearing glasses. The sketch bears a strong resemblance to James McBey, so is likely to be a self portrait. The paper has been torn in half and traces of another sketch can be seen on the left.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this sketch.
