About MeOriginally produced for the planned coronation of Edward VIII, Wedgwood re-issued this mug in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The conventional symbols of the Royal Arms are flanked by initial letters on the front and the date fills the rear of the mug. The stylised fireworks in yellow and black are a typical feature of Ravilious' fondness for decorative design.

More About Me
This Wedgewood mug was originally designed by Eric Ravilious, a War Artist who was in a plane that disappeared over Iceland during WW2 in 1942 and was never found.
