It is full of stamps from McBey's numerous trips to Morocco and back to the United Kingdom, and the bottom right corner is cut to indicate that it is no longer valid. On the inside cover McBey details Herbert Paton as his emergency contacts, notes 6417 Wissahickton Avenue, Philadeliphia, PA as his U.S address, and El Foolk, Tangier as his foreign residence.
This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this passport.
