About MePostcard depicting the etching Zaanstreek by James McBey from 1923, which was originally owned by American Banker and art collector, Albert Wiggin. In 1941 Wiggin donated his collection of several thousand art works, including this etching by James McBey, to the Boston Public Library.

In 1960 H. H. Kynett donated another of the original etchings from this edition to Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums, see ABDAG002042. The postcard was printed by The Meriden Gravure Company, Meriden, Connecticut.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this postcard.
