About MeLetter from Eileen Arbuthnot Robertson, known to the McBey's as Billy Turner, dated 14 July, asking whether Maurice Brown had asked McBey to back Billy's play. Billy goes on to explain that Maurice was trying to raise money for the play privately, because Sybil Thorndike was having financial trouble. Billy urges McBey not to get involved if Maurice had been in touch, because she did not want to involve any of her friends in the fundraising process.

Billy also talks about her discovery of "the heavenliest pub we have ever met", The Prospect of Whitby and asks McBey if he knows it.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
