About MeFigure studies drawn by James McBey during his time as Official War Artist in Egypt from 26 May 1917, depicting a series of male figures. McBey has annotated certain parts of the studies to indicate colour, such as one of the cloaks, which is mauve and brown. The sketch is kept within a sketchbook, along with a series of other related drawings.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as these figure studies.
