About MeHandwritten letter from Frank Hardie to Marguerite McBey, dated 17 August 1961. In it Hardie discusses the statue of Mercury, given to him by Marguerite after James McBey's death. He also explains that a photograph of the statue in "his new home" is enclosed. The letter was originally kept with the photograph in an envelope postmarked 17 August 1961 (see ABDAG008366.89).

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this letter.
