About MeSketch depicting three individual city scenes, each with their own title, these are, "Bab Khenis Late Evening", "Inside Bab Badene, 12 Noon", "Corner Inside from Bordene Gate, near 12 Noon." The sketch was drawn by James McBey during a trip to Meknes, Morocco in October 1935. It is kept within a sketchbook, along with a series of other related drawings.This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this sketch.
