About MeIn February 1917, McBey was granted ten days special leave to sketch the desolation of the Somme front. With some difficulty and hardship he travelled to Etaples, Amiens, Albert and Meulte, concluding his journey at Hesdin and Abbeville. In Hesdin he came across a carpenter in his workshop making wooden crosses to mark the graves of the fallen.More About Me
