About MeThis is part of a collection of documents relating to Caroline Phillips (1874-1956), an Aberdonian journalist who was involved in the women's suffrage movement. The collection contains important correspondence between Phillips and key leaders in the suffrage movement, including Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst.28th January 1908
Dear Miss Phillips
I have been intending to write for some time but have had so very little time. The
Ruthuglen meeting was quite exciting - I succeeded in moving an amendment and outside we had a splendid open-air meeting. We are going back on 29th to hold a meeting there which I hope will be successful.
I wish we could interest the Liberal Women really - but Haldanis address to them was a queer mixture - and they ought to have resented it. I hope you have a very successful meeting on Wedy afternoon and that it helps to make the students vote against Asquith. Mr Murray is going to be a splendid help to you - it is so good you have him. Lady Ramsay tells me he wants to make Aberdeen a Centre.
Mrs Pethick Lawrence's exact time of coming I do not know yet, but hope to hear soon. We are getting on well here and Miss Mary Phillips and I had good campaign in East Fife last week - some of the meetings being splendid.
My love & I shall be glad to hear how you get on.
