About MeCentrifuge used to seperate blood into its main components via spinning action. Used for bulk samples. Smaller bench models exist. This particular model was banned by the Health and Safety Executive as unsafe - the spinning action continued whilst lid was opened, potentially dangerous, although no accident has been known to happen as a result of this. By the time it was banned the machine was technically obsolete.used in the Department of Medicine, Aberdeen University, Foresterhill.
