About MeCast iron maker's plate with scalloped, raised edge and cast inscription: "JOHN A. SANGSTER // LIMITED // 3 TONS // ABERDEEN". The plate has previously been broken across the centre in line with the two screw holes, but has been welded back together.

This plate was from a crane at Notter Tor quarry on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall which was worked by J. Rundle & Sons from at least 1930 until about 1964-5. The quarry is fairly typical of the small granite workings found in Cornwall, which also had a granite quarrying industry.
