About MeThis James Smith was apprenticed to James Erskine in 1803 and his indenture was registered in 1810. The marks on the spoon are probably attributable to him as the hand and dagger mark is one that was used by his master, James Erskine, but distinguished by the JS mark next to it. This Old English spoon with the hand on dagger mark my have been made by Smith whilst working for Erskine as a journeyman.
