This is to certify that the bearer James Ross has served with me during the voyage from London to Adelaide Iquique & Dunkirk and during which time he has conducted himself in a very sober steady and attentive manner having made almost an entire suit of sails in that time so have great pleasure in vouching for his ability's he leaves me on account of the intended sale of the ship and trust he soon get another and better one.
