In volume one there are three loose leaves. In volume two, there are three leaves.
The notebooks were written in October to November 1960, though the stories themselves were told by James McBey between 1900s and 1950s. In both volumes there is a typewritten page of contents. In 'Stories', volume one, the anecdotes include:
