About MeThe Dunbar Field began production in December 1995. The model shows the entire installation, both over and underwater, and the piping that leading to the Ellon and Grant subsea satellites is visible. The model of the 'Dunbar' platform also displays a tendered platform (Sedco 706 drilling semi submersible) with bridge in place between the two installations.
The drilling rig is used in Tender Assist Mode. Thist allows the accomodation, storage, power and so on to be available for use whilst the hazardous drilling activity takes place, leaving the main installation separate from the actual working activity. The linking of the two installations allows the workforce to pass between the two platforms and also allows one to be used as a refuge for the workforce should a major incident occur.
