About MeFascinated by time and captured memory, Skaer created these sculptures from fragments of her earlier work, Film for an Abandoned Projector.

She punched out the centres of individual frames from this filmstrip to create a visually disturbing new film, Margin of July where the viewer can never see the ‘full picture’, only the margins. Skaer then grouped the clippings as ‘scenes’ and submerged them in resin to make these sculptures, part of a larger series called Me, Me, Me, Me.

The resulting works are both ‘portraits’ of the film and an archive of a moment in time.
More About Me
Skaer works in sculpture, film, painting and drawing. In 2007 she was nominated for the prestigious (and controversial!) Turner Prize.
