About MeBarra Castle lies on the outskirts of Oldmeldrum, to the north west of Aberdeen. It is more of a manor house than a castle, since there are no fortified turrets. Instead there are three round towers with conical roofs, one of which is evident in Cassie's depiction of the house.Cassie also painted the interior of Barra Castle.
More About Me
Being near to his place of birth, Barra Castle was very familiar to Cassie, a largely self-taught artist specialising in seascapes as well as landscapes.
