About MeBoxed Vulcan Countess child’s hand sewing machine with extension work table and clamp, all in the original packaging, bought from the Rubber Shop in Aberdeen. Sewing machine with beige and brown metal casing with "VULCAN" on the arm and "COUNTESS // MADE IN ENGLAND" on the body. Underside of the base has an inscription in relief: "REG'D DESIGN NO'S // 890569 890570". The sewing machine sits within the original interior packaging within the yellow box, with the extension table and clamp in a small yellow box clearly marked. Underneath the packaging are some small fabric and paper scraps which appear to have been used as test pieces.
The box has a lift off lid with an illustration of the sewing machine and two children and reads "Vulcan // MADE IN ENGLAND // COUNTESSS // CHILD'S // SEWING // MACHINE // CHILD'S HAND OPERATED SEWING MACHINE". This is repeated on the four sides of the box with illustrations of items of clothing.
