About MeEngraving commemorating the sea rescue of seven boys including David Bruce, son of the Edinburgh silversmith Robert Bruce, by John Shepherd on 19th August 1710.

Robert Bruce also presented Mr Shepherd with a silver plate in the shape of a boat (ABDAG008744) in recognition of his role in saving the boys. The other youths rescued were David Rankilour, John Wilson, James Martin, Alexander Mitchell, James Thomson and James Watson.
