About MeGreen board album with floral design on the cover and inscribed "Post Card Album". It contains a large collection of postcards belonging to Georgina Matheson, also known as Ina (1877-1967).

Ina had a daughter, Isabell in May 1906, marrying Thomas Archer of Arbroath, the father of the baby in June 1906. A month later, Thomas set sail on the Empress of India from Londonderry, as recorded on the first postcard in the album, dated 29th July 1906. Subsequent postcards record his arrival in Quebec and onwards to Winnipeg, where we think he had a job waiting with the Canadian Pacific Railway Company.    He continues to send postcards to Ina, trying to persuade her to join him in Winnipeg, and other postcards from friends also try to persuade her. Thomas’s sisters continue to write to her, and visit, from Arbroath. In 1908, Thomas appears to have stopped writing as his sisters ask if he has been in touch and ask Ina if she heard from the Investigative Department.

The postcards are arranged four to a page using pre-cut corners, except for the last few pages. The postcards include tourist and local scenes or people, celebrities, humour and family portraits.
