About MeNicola Seal's description: "The sphere represents a connected global community and is reminiscent of the [Covid] virus itself. Some connections are strong, some are weak, some are broken. Some figures are missing- these represent those people who have sadly died from Coronavirus. The central glass dome is a coronavirus ‘bubble’ – a group of 6 family members, with a single person left out and looking in – difficult decisions often had to be made about who was included and who was not included in the rule of 6. The choice of an unglazed, almost volcanic looking black clay, contrasts with the slick tech world. It lends an ‘of the earth’ quality- sociability is a fundamental, timeless part of human nature, one which will always persist, no matter what the barriers."
