About MeThis porcelain cylindrical teapot and circular cover is decorated all over with extrusions formed by the potter pushing small sections of clay outwards to create texture. The tall handle is created from several twisted reeds which are bound together and tied off above the loops.
The shape of the teapot is inspired by East Asian forms and Chris Keenan has chosen a tenmoku glaze, also originating from East Asia, to enhance the elegantly simple shape. Both the teapot and its cover are glazed in a chocolate brown tenmoku glaze which fades to very light brown on rim edges and tops of the clay extrusions.
