About MeHelen Scaife has created Rising Pillars of Aberdeen, a painting about climate change. Inspired by the setting and stormy sea in the artwork Paddle Steamer 'Sovereign' Entering Aberdeen Harbour, Helen shows Aberdeen’s coastline and distinctive landmarks like the Marine Operations Centre and Citadel. Her large waves are symbolic of global warming looming over us, and the work includes toys and netting, highlighting that plastic seems to be discarded so easily despite taking a long time to decompose.Edward Hughes
