About MeJane Hamlyn is one of Britain's leading salt glaze potters.

During the 1990s she was instrumental in the revival of salt-glazing, where salt is thrown into the kiln at peak temperature to create a glaze with a texture similar to orange peel.

The vessel is glazed in a blue salt-glaze, becoming grey particularly around the handle. The exterior is also glazed in a dark brown and a mossy green metallic slip glaze, giving the surface a lustrous finish.
