Shino glaze is a traditional Japanese glaze known for its milky white and orange colours . It is composed primarily of feldspar which is a rock-forming mineral consisting of aluminosilicates of potassium, sodium, and calcium.
Lisa Hammond is based at her Maze Hill Pottery in Greenwich, where she makes a range of thrown functional pots mainly for the preparation and serving of food and beverages. She has spent time working and exhibiting in Japan and is well-known for her pioneering use of shino glazes.
