About MeJ. Arnesby Brown was a pupil of Hubert von Herkomer, studying at his art school at Bushey in Hertfordshire. He specialised in landscape painting and often included cattle in his paintings. Although he kept a studio in London, he also spent a lot of time in Cornwall and Norfolk, where the flat landscape proved to be an inspiration. His home was at Haddiscoe, Norfolk, where he died on 16 November 1955.Robert Buchan Nisbet
