About MeFigurine of a Selkie in human form with sealskin beside her. This mythological creature can shapeshift between seal and human forms by shedding or wearing their seal skin.

Partington explores folklore and gives the figurine a modern contemporary twist, showing the selkie in a bikini, surrounded by Crocs, mobile phone and suntan lotion.

Partington creates large-scale ceramic figures inspired by the past, art history and folklore. Her works reimagine historical figures and fairytales, interweaving past with present. Her pieces comment on gender, power, identity and image, particularly in relation to women.
