About MePercusion cap pistol made by John Lyell of Aberdeen, probably a target or duelling pistol.

John Lyell set himself up in business in Aberdeen about 1823 and originally marketed household grates. By 1830 Lyell was advertising as working at the "Sign of the Golden Gun" and announced that he had taken on an experienced gunmaker (unnamed).

This gun is one of a pair. They are rare items because they appear to be products made in Aberdeen by Lyell, rather then just sold by him.
