About MeThis collection of flags, the red poppies of their day, were sold on what were known as Flag Days. Flag Days were the idea of Agnes Brysson Morrison, a Scottish woman for whom charity work was second nature. Her keen interest in the welfare of others saw her organise over 300 Flag Days, which would go on to raise over £25 million for worthy causes by the end of First World War (over one billion pounds in today’s money). The funds raised by selling the paper flags for a penny each went towards helping the war effort in a variety of ways. Individual flags have designs related to specific causes.
