About MeThis sampler was stitched by Margaret Todd aged 8 in Stonehaven in 1843.
The upper section comprises upper and lower case alphabets and numerals followed by family initials interspersed with hearts.
There is a religious verse in the centre:
O with thy tender mercies Lord
Us early satisfy
So we rejoice shall all our days
And still be glad in thee.
The lower section is decorated with flowers, trees, peacocks, dogs, topiary trees, a house and a garden with a white fence. Chenille thread has been used to make the grass in front of the house.
